Every Day We Fight
Brief Description
Every Day We Fight is a turn-based tactical rogue-lite set in an open world. You lead a small group of heroes who are caught in a time loop during an alien invasion, where you must fight off the invaders while completing various missions, and rescue other civilians while adapting to new skills and equipment gained from each loop.
The game is currently out on Steam in early access!
My Contributions
Oct 2022 – Present
I was assigned the role of gameplay programmer and helped contribute to the following examples:
- Designing/developing gameplay systems
- e.g. Creation of Skills system based upon a decoupled data driven approach, which allowed for many fast and unique iterations
- e.g. Leveling/XP system with interchangeable level-up algorithms
- e.g. Damage estimations based on current equipment, stats, aiming direction, etc.
- Integration between Gameplay and UI, as well as setting up other UI Widgets logic
- e.g. Health bars/damage estimations, weapons overview, dynamic adjustable HUD and other HUD elements
- e.g. Interactive Menus: map menu (and marker system), skills menu (skill trees), codex, crafting UI, settings menus
- e.g. Notification pop-ups for specified events (leveling up, unlocking new item in the codex)
- Profiling and Optimizing game features
- e.g. CPU/GPU optimizations with Unreal tools and RenderDoc
- e.g. Async multithreaded tasks for damage estimations
